This College is responsible under Provincial Legislation for the regulation of the practice of medicine in NB. It decides on the requirements for a license to practice medicine, registers medical doctors and issues licenses and decides who may be legally recognized as a specialist in any of the medical or surgical specialties. It also handles inquiries for complaints concerning members of the medical profession and may take legal action against persons practicing medicine without registration with the College.
