Premier’s Council on Disabilities
The Premier’s Council on Disabilities was created by legislation to advise the provincial government on matters relating to the status of persons with disabilities. It reports directly to the Premier of New Brunswick but has access to all ministers and government departments.
The Council’s definition of persons with disabilities is broad enough to cover all types of disabilities and allows it to look at all aspects involving persons with disabilities. The Council offers information and assistance to individuals or groups on any topic related to persons with disabilities.
The Council receives briefs and suggestions from individuals and groups, and undertakes research on matters relating to persons with disabilities. It recommends programs and proposes legislation, policies and practices to improve the status of persons with disabilities.
The Council maintains information on topics of interest to persons with disabilities.
Council information is available in alternate formats upon request.
